Join us in celebrating wine this October on a global scale. Come Together has launched the Come Over October campaign to highlight wine’s communal and celebratory role throughout history. This campaign, created by wine journalist Karen MacNeil and wine industry professionals Gino Colangelo and Kimberly Noelle Charles DipWSET, aims to encourage friends, family, and colleagues to come together and share wine to celebrate friendship.
In collaboration with Wines of South Africa, Visit Winelands, and Wineland Media, South Africa Wine invites you to participate in this global initiative. The wine industry has faced various challenges, but it has always been a beverage of choice for gatherings. Come Over October promotes sharing stories, reconnecting in a digital world, and celebrating events or occasions with the intimacy of in-person connections.
As a recent example illustrates, a restaurant in the most wine-centric town of Italy, Verona, called Il Condominio, offered its clientele a complimentary bottle of wine if customers agreed to relinquish their phones for the period of a meal so that they might get back to the art of conversation at the table.
Having launched to the American media in July, the campaign has received early support from Wine America, Lyft, Silicon Valley Bank, Women For WineSense, Women of the Vine and Spirits, VinePair, and Wine Enthusiast, among others. Globally, Wines of Chile, Wines of Sicilia Doc, and Vinitaly also support the campaign.
The Come Over October website offers a range of resources for wineries and the trade, a calendar of events, and creative ideas for engaging in October. Join the conversation or follow along on Instagram using @comeoveroctober or #comeoveroctober. To learn more about the Come Over October campaign, visit their website: www.comeoveroctober.com.
