Assessing the drought tolerance of selected grapevine scion cultivars under dryland conditions in the Swartland region

24 January 2023 @ 9:45 am - 11:30 am

Free

More efficient water use is a high priority for the wine industry. ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij is currently busy with a project to evaluate the drought tolerance of nine red and eight white cultivars. The primary objective is to assess which cultivars perform the best under dryland conditions. Such cultivars could also be cultivated using less water in traditional irrigation areas. The grapevines are now in their fifth leaf and in full production. This information session is presented by ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij and Winetech, who also fund the project.
